AI Reel analyzer: see why a Reel went viral
Last updated
Knowing a Reel went viral isn’t enough: you need to know what to reuse. Optimiro’s breakdown shows a Reel’s hook, format, topic, tone and structure next to its views and its Optimiro score. You take the pattern and make your own video, not a copy.
One breakdown costs 2 credits and takes up to a minute, and a Reel that’s already been analysed reopens for free. The AI transcribes the speech, quotes the opening line word for word and describes the Reel in your interface language, even when the Reel is in another: an Uzbek Reel can be broken down in English. The breakdown shows what’s worth testing; it doesn’t prove why a Reel got its views.
What the breakdown shows
Hook: how it opens — a question, a bold claim, a problem, a curiosity gap, the result first, a negative, a statistic, a story or a direct address — and the opening line word for word. Format: talking head, voiceover with b-roll, tutorial, list, story, demo, before-and-after, interview, skit, vlog or text on screen. Topic, goal, audience, tone and pacing. Structure: what happens, and roughly at which second. On-screen text, the call to action and key phrases. Remake difficulty: low, medium or high, meaning whether you could reshoot it on a phone.
The numbers sit apart from the reading
Views and the Optimiro score are data. The hook, the format and the explanation of why it worked are the AI’s reading. The breakdown keeps them apart, so you can see where the facts end and the interpretation begins. Open the original Reel and check the reading yourself before you build a script on it.
How to work out why a Reel took off
Start by comparing it with the creator’s median: at three times or more, something other than account size was at work. Then watch the first three seconds: what does a viewer see and hear before deciding to stay? Next, the structure: is there a promise at the start and a payoff that holds people to the end? Finally, ask why someone would send it to a friend. Instagram head Adam Mosseri has named watch time, likes and sends as the main signals, with sends weighing more for reaching non-followers.
Why a Reel doesn’t take off
Usually the problem is the opening rather than the algorithm. A logo, a greeting or a slow intro in the first seconds loses people. A 10-second idea has been stretched to a minute. Nothing gives anyone a reason to finish it or send it on. Posting comes in bursts: ten in a week, then a month of silence. The content was re-uploaded from other apps, and Instagram has stopped recommending accounts like that. Break down your weak Reel and a competitor’s strong one the same way and compare the hook, length and pacing: the gap usually shows right away.
Analysing competitors’ Reels
Open a competitor’s account, sort its Reels by Optimiro score and break down the best three to five. Look past the single video to what repeats: one hook type, one format, one topic. If a move worked for two or three creators in your niche, it’s worth testing yourself. Breakdowns are saved, so over time you build your own library of moves.
Signals, not promises
The breakdown points at patterns worth testing in your own content. It doesn’t claim to prove why the Reel got its views: timing, audience and the algorithm play a part too.
Turn the analysis into content
Take the breakdown into the script writer — three hooks, scenes, a caption and a call to action — or into the video maker, which animates the idea in one of 26 styles with music and a voiceover in Uzbek, Russian or another language. Scripts and videos are part of the paid plans.
Questions about this tool
- Is this copying the original Reel?
- No. Analysis and writing are separate: you keep the idea and structure and Optimiro writes a new script or video for your brand. The original’s picture, sound and words don’t go into your video. Review it before publishing.
- Can I analyse a Reel in Uzbek?
- Yes. The AI transcribes the speech in the Reel’s language and writes the description in your interface language: Uzbek, Russian or English. Quotes from the Reel stay word for word.
- How much does a breakdown cost?
- 2 credits per Reel. The price is on the button, and a Reel that’s already been analysed reopens for free.
- Can I analyse Reels from my AI assistant?
- Yes. Connect Optimiro to an assistant that supports MCP and ask it to search Reels, analyse an account or pull a Reel’s transcript and structure from the chat.
